Brilliant. Your constitutional right to bear arms has violated the rights of a nearly a dozen people who are now dead. I feel sorry for their familes too.

I'm confused here. Can someone, anyone, for the love of god, explain to me why anyone would need to own an assult rifle? For target practice? For hunting? Do you really need to hunt with an assult rifle???

Do you think that kid owned that AK-47 legally?

Do you think more laws will keep law-breakers from owning them?

My 350hp car is transportation, not a weapon designed to kill people. It's just faster than a Honda.

Wanna bet?

Why do you think they consider a vehicle as a weapon if you are either A)running people over B)attempting to run a police car off the road C)Do I need to say anymore?

Also, you do not need that 350+ hp car to drive regularly. You could very well use a 90 hp Yugo (according to your logic.)

You have a 350+ hp your YOUR ENJOYMENT. I use an Assault-Rifle for MY ENJOYMENT.

Is your logic that skewed? I guess dropping out of college was not the best decision that you have made in your life. :bash:

Even if his parents owned it, there are other ways for nut cases like him to go about killing people/ending his own life. Bombs (that you can make at home), knives and swords, starting fires, and the list could go on.

And anyone who wants a weapon can go get one. Legally or not. It's called the black market. Something that the government will never have full control over because that's what makes it what it is.

That was the point, he stole the gun. At that point, he became a criminal. And criminals don't care about laws. He wanted a gun, and he would have found it, regardless of laws.

The guns already exist. Making more laws will not keep criminals from getting their hands on them. Maybe if the laws had existed before our country became so saturated with guns, but not anymore.

Acutaully, just for the sake of argument, If any one of those dozen people had used THEIR right to bear arms, they could have shot him and saved some lives. So it wasen't the right to bear arms that killed them, but rather not useing that right.

oh, and In Before Smackdown.

I know that's the point. I'm trying to reiterate that to porno man that started the post. And I'm showing how, by deducing his logic put forth, that assault rifles are in the same category as owning a high performance car. Is it necessary? No. That's what makes it enjoyable for some to own and not others.

I'm sick of people trying to infringe on my rights to own a gun to go shoot/hunt with if I want to.

Didn't he get it from his step father? Doesn't the legal gun owner have to legally keep firearms out the reach of others?

This is what I don't understand. You guys sit here and tell me "I have the right to defend myself", which for me translates into a firearm that isn't secure. This means when you go to work your firearm is under your pillow or in your nightstand where anyone can get to it. And if you lock it up, well, you can't exactly use it to defend yourself.

Somehow this kid got a legally purchased assult rifle from his step father. Maybe his step father bought it for him or maybe he stole it from his step father. But somewhere alone the line someone should have said "I come into regular contact with a child who has been on medication for depression for years and perhaps it's not the best idea to keep a ASSULT RIFLE around where he can get to it.

Your right. Cars are weapons. Any car / ever car is a weapon. We should outlaw them all.

Cars are transportation.

Guns kill people.

Period.

I agree with Rochard! We need to make assault rifles illegal. If this kid would have known assault rifles were illegal, he would have canceled plans to go on a murderous rampage for fear of violating gun laws.

Brilliant idea!!!

Let's arm every sixteen year old sales clerk at Macys with a handgun.

gun's do kill people and a spoon made Rosie Odonel fat

If more people carried guns, there would be a better ratio to combat nut jobs that want to kill people at the mall

Also, Rochard has made the perfectly valid point (in his other thread) of gun owners not being in a proper state to defend themselves with a firearm when someone breaks into their house while they're sleeping at night.

The obvious solution? Make it illegal to break into someone's house AT NIGHT!!
