Hey guys,

I'm in the process of getting my engine rebuilt. The car had a Teksid block out of a 98 Cobra. I picked up a used iron block out of an 03 Cobra. The machine shop says the block I got was not a Cobra block and seems to have been sourced from an f-150. Is there anyway to confirm this? They said the timing component mounting spots aren't right and the casting number isn't right.

Not completely positive on this but the blocks are the same mostly. Cobras didn't have knock sensors,so one difference that would be easy to spot would be drilled bosses in the valley. If they're drilled/tapped, it was most likely a run of the mill 4.6 block.

No knock sensor spots on this one. For whatever reason the timing component locations don't match up. I never found anything out on the casting number or anything but I just bought another Teksid from Racebronco.
