Hi, Sorry, didn't come with any instructions and I am challenged with the hose configurations... :bash: Either the hoses are crimping (cant be good) or the are bumping into a bracket or way to long... Came with 1 long straight hose and 1 contoured hose. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I am having no luck. thanks David
Anyone? Did I get hoses for a GT500 vs 03 Cobra? Just doesn't make sense, hose is kinked big time when I hook it to either connector.... :bash: David
I wish I could remember...it's been a while since I installed this on my car...I don't recall one of my hoses being so crimped...there is a heat exchanger write-up floating around here that might have some pics...
Yes, I checked out the write-up in another thread, problem is that is for the non-dual pass version which does not have the connectors both on one side. I need to see instructions for the Dual Pass. It almost seems to work if that bottom connector was facing in toward the drivers side rather outward. How is a straight hose suppose to come from the drivers side and connect to that w/o kinking..? This is real aggravating, thanks for the post though. David
+1 you don't use the stock lines and hoses. the hoses you got replace these. this is due to the inlet and outlet being on the same side since it's a dual pass. may be some one can pos up a pic.
So you are saying to remove both metal lines? Then connect the contoured hosed directly to the pump and the straight hose all the way back to the existing connector... Huh, never thought of that... Let me know. David
+2. Hope you were able to figure it out. The hard part is burping the lines. make sure to run your intercooler pump to get out all the air out and make sure to check it every now and then to make sure your pump doesn't get a air bubble and lock up.
Thank you. Yes, I finally did figure it out. Would have been nice to have some instructions... oh well. I will be re-filling her tomorrow, so thanks for the advice on how to get her burped properly. David
Bummer I just saw this as mine didn't come with the instructions either and LFP emailed them to me... But you got it!
Go figure, always happens to me on weekends! You know the need to get your mods on. ;-) So for everyone else who doesn't receive instructions, here is the critical part (if you are challenged like me) that is missing from the single-pass to the dual-pass heat exchanger. You need to: * Remove the metal lines * Remove the hose from the I/C pump * Keep the other factory hose intact, just remove the metal line * Connect the contoured hose to the I/C pump and the top of the H/E * Connect the factory hose to the lower connector on the I/C * The extra 36" of hose is good for whippin' your <pet/friend name goes here>, seeing it is NOT needed. :dw: * Refer to pic below* As always, big thanks for everyone's help and hopefully this will help the next guy w/o instructions!!! David
Sexy! Before you button up you should get those brackets painted. I went with silver to blend with the alum. heat exchanger, but anything looks better than rusty parts. Just a suggestion!
yeah I was tinking the same thing on mine. I didn't take the time to paint but at least they weren't rusty. Glad you got the install done.
