My 3-1/2 year old daughter is currently riding in a forward-facing car seat (in the rear seat). Her weight is approximately 40 pounds. I am trying to find out definitively if she will be able to ride in my single cab 99 F-150 (no back seat). The vehicle has the switch to turn the air bag off. Like most other parents, I would rather her ride in the rear of the vehicle, but until I can get another vehicle it is either this or a 2 mile piggy-back ride from our house to daycare.

While researching I came across the following link:

I just want to make sure I'm not going to be getting myself in trouble. Thanks in advance.

According to NJ law a child may sit in the front seat of vehicle that has no rear seat. But they must be in an approved safety seat.
