Help me with my transmission decision!

So i broke my 4th WC T5. My dad is going to help me out on getting a new Tremec. So should I go with the TKO 500 or 600? Also, AmpPerfomance has a starter kit at a nice price. Is there anywhere else I should look for some better deals? Oh yea, the car is an 88 GT making 311 rwhp (would like to put a blower on it sometime in the future). Thanks!

I just did a 6 speed swap and I really fly through the first 3 gears. It was a very easy swap.

since the 600 is only about 100 bucks more, i know what i would do.
