Ok guys I'm trying to pick up time and mph by doing little things best so far is 7.06 at 102 with a 1.62 sixty weighing 3950. My main question is my 3.90s hurting me even just in the 8th mile? Been thinking about going 3.31s to see how they feel. I also do a lot of 40 and 60 rolls curious if going to 3.31s would help me out there as well? Thanks

Your wanting your cake and eat it to. Can't have both but you can have a good mix. 0-100 is all torque. The taller the gear more torque, but you loose top end (roll 60-140). A good happy medium would be like a 3:55. Will give you good torque and still decent top end. Just have to decide what your want more, top end or 1/8 mile.

My car runs 7.1s at 101mph and probably about the same weight. I have 3.31s, 28" slick, and have been 10.9 at 131mph. My issue with the 3.31s is you have to leave the line so hard to get the car not to bog. Even at 5500rpm clutch drop the car is bogging down a tad before going. For 1/8th mile racing i would see what rpm the car is finishing in what gear and then gear accordingly.

Also, 3.31s on a 40 roll with a 28" tire leaves you either too high in first gear or too low in 2nd gear.

it's quite hard to focus on mph on a drag car without alot of history to track trends (IMO at least 100+ runs a season).

best bet is to work on et.

like stated above though, you either build a drag car or a roll racer, both cars have diffrent requirements that don't play well together.
