I'm currently looking around for new fronts for my CCW's.

I've done some searching and from what I can tell, the 275/35/18 seem to be the preferred size.

My only concern now is that the 265/35 I have on there now doesn't look right. I'm also thinking a 285 would be way too wide in the front.

I should add, I'm currently looking at the BFG KDW2 NT 275/35/18s.

I'm curious as to what some of you guys are running up front. Thanks!

275 40's in the front will rub on your inner fenders. im having this problem with mine. are 275 35's different that much?

Just the amount of sidewall, no?

Rim Width Meas.Rim Sect.
Range Width Width

Tire rack lists the 275/35 as 9-11" 9.5" 10.9"
then the 265/35 9-10.5" 9.5" 10.7"

The 275/35 would give me .2" extra width, which might be enough.

SpectorV, they have 2 types of 285 with a 30 and 40 series. I'd be worried about them contacting the inner fenderwell. I guess I'm just worried about having a "holy crap" huge front tire.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate your input!

2000 Cobra R wheels are 18x9.5's and they came factory with 265/35/18, BFG G-Force KD tires.

Just food for thought.

A 265 35 or 275 35 will both work. The latter would be the exact o.d. of the original tires that came with the car.

I have the BFG KDW II 275-35-18 tires on my SSR GT-3 18" X 9.5" wheels and really like the look of that size tire on a 9.5" wheel...

I thought about that just after I posted but, all the info I found said 265/40/18's for the 00'R.

So far guys, I'm leaning towards that or the 275/35's at the moment.

You are correct, and I am wrong I think. I use to run 265/35/18 BFG G-Force KD's on my old Roush Mustang, and maybe that why I thought that.

I agree that I would rather run 275/35/18 tires than 265/40/18 tires.

i had 275/35/18's on my old GT wheels...no issues at all except they stuck out a tiny bit.

I wouldn't recomend the 285...would be way to wide adn the tires woudl track like crazy and you'd have to fight the car to keep it straight.

I had 275/35 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires on my 18x9.5 on all 4 corners of my '03 GT and they looked perfect. They were pretty wide tires and were just a tad wider than the wheels.

Thanks guys! I ended up getting the 275/35/18's. They look awesome, all except for one leaking valve stem. Now, I get to try and figure out why the tech couldn't match the alignment specs that MM gave me.
