Help me identify a baby snake

I saw a baby snake tonight by the garage, It was shorter than a #2 pencil and smaller in diameter, jet black with a single yellow band just behind it's head, and it looked like some of the belly was yellow. I'm in Maryland and Black (rat) snakes are common as are some garder snakes. My property is not waterfront, but I do have a stream about 400 ft behind my home. Anyone have an idea of what it was or have a pic you could post? I haven't seen anything online that looks like it. PS, I do not like snakes.. :nonono:
