Help!! leaking oil pretty bad

Cleaned it up a little, but its leaking pretty bad.
It looks like its coming out of the metal thing that holds my oil filter.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, or how it happened?

Looks like you might be replacing the o-rings in the oil cooler...run a search for "oil cooler leak" and you'll find out more info about that particular leak.

You could try to tighten the oil cooler's 1/2" hex/allen bolt first (remove oil filter). This can become loose over time from people (ie - oil change techs) over-tightening your oil filter. You may want to give that a try before you order up all of the o-rings (p/n F6ZZ-6L621-AA ) and tackle this project.

BTW - Don't let a dealer or repair shop tell you that you NEED a brand new oil cooler assembly ($$$) right off the bat. Oh, and don't use JB Weld to plug up the weep hole either. LOL Don't ask - I've read about some other people trying really WEIRD stuff for this problem.
