HELP!!! I have a big Drag Race coming up... How will 28's work 4 me?

I have a big race coming up with a really mean drag ready f-body. No times yet on his car yet. A good friend of mine will let me borrow his 28 x11.5 on 16x10 rims. Will these tires hurt my times?

I have a stock gears. my best so far on street tires... These are my bests so far...


60' 1.84
ET: 11.949 @ 119
MPH: 11.990 @ 121.19

I think you'll be better off with a 26" tire or getting 3.90's and run the 28" tire.

28's is all I can get or I would go with a 26.

The 28" tall tire will take away alot of gear and deff. will slow you down mph. I would buy a set of MT ET Street Drag Radials in 275-40-17. These hook just as good as full slicks. Get an extra set of rims to mount em to and glue em at the beads! Being their tubeless and them hooking you don't want them spinning on the rim! They're the same diameter as the stockers so you won't loose any gearing! Just my 2 cnts :burnout: :burnout:

i should still be better than the street tires. what were ur 60' on the street runs? if u were under 2.0 id say stay street tires...u MIGHT see a mid ot high 1.8 on thos slicks. they will kill ur gearing meaing itll be like u have something like 3.27's instead of 3.55s. your gonna have ot put some rpms on th elaunch so u dont bog off the line. im off to the track myself but like i said..if ur hitting 1.9 2.0 on streets..i say just go streets until u can get some 26s

Thanks, I had some 315 nitto's. I didnt work for me to well. Thats why I need to try/borrow some E/T's
