Hey guys, I am repairing curb-rash on some Mach 1 wheels that I picked up. Unfortunately while I was working I didn't notice that some of the tape I was using came off and while sanding I put some light scratches in the clear-coat. The scratches in the clear-coat came out a milky-white color and I don't know how to get rid of it without making the wound worse.
I have sandpaper ranging from 40 to 2200 (wet/dry) and some mothers wheel polish if any of those would work well. Any ideas on what I can/should do to fix this?

Thanks in advanced!

If it is clear coated, a polish or compound (depending on how 'bad' the scratches are) will work just fine. You should be able to take care of it by hand.

Thanks for the reply, that should be pretty easy then. If it doesn't work you'll be seeing me again soon.

Alright guys, I've almost completely finished fixing up all of the curb rash on the wheels. Unfortunately, any damage that was not on the lip I found to be too difficult to repair. But otherwise, here's the before and a couple after pics. I'll post the rest of the after pics when I'm 100% done!

The wheel with the blue tape I had already started but it had the worst damage to the lip out of all of them.

The inside of the rim had been completely covered woth caked on dirt from what I'm guessing is 12+ years of use. I'll get a better shot of them tomorrow, but I used some scrubbing bubbles and a bit of steel wool to get them back into great shape.
