I was wondering if anybody could refer me to any particular parts stores or business which might carry an oil pump for a 93 SHO 3.2. They are absolete at the dealership so I am pretty much screwed. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. :pepper:

Screwed is right.

Why do you need a new oil pump? No SHO to my knowledge has ever had a oil pump fail. Nor is there any aftermarket source for them.

IIRC, I just recently read a post over at SHOforum about someone 'rebuilding' their oil pump....

Reply;

The SHO spun a bearing from lack of lubrication. The oil pressure was also down and the owner wanted a new oil pump to assure enough oil pressure. The actually went through the bottom end.

You're not going to find a new one so you're going to have to rebuild it. My advice is check eBay.

Ford Performance specialists(Fps) has like the last 21 3.0 ford oil pumps and the last two oil pumps in the world. The 3.0 pumps are like 360.00 and the 3.2 they arent selling, so I suggest a rebuild if you can find someone.

Oil pump failures are infrequent but do happen. My 94 3.0L had one fail about 6 months ago. You can get them at the Sho Shop for $209.
Heres the link.

www.shoshop.com

Go under 89 to 95 sho. then maintenance, then oiling system.

No problem, Its not often I get to talk about SHO's. I wouldnt ever call myself an expert on anything, for there is always more to learn. But, theres not to much I dont know about them. I have thoroughly enjoyed mine for 5yrs. Im mechanic in the army they have got me on recruiting duty out here in CA for the next 2yrs. Takes up all my time for right now. When I fininsh up here in CA me and my brother are going to transplant a SHO motor into my 240sx. We have plans for a twin turbo system. Should be something to see in a couple of years. Hope to suprise a few people at the track. Hope everything goes well for you.

The 3.0 oil pump is different from the 3.2..I don't remember what exactly is different.

In dealing with SHO Shop, there customer service has alot to be desired. I've had ok experience with them in my dealings. IMO, I'd go to FPS (Ford Performance Specialists in Douglasville,GA...Doub Lewis is the man, or Performance Plus in Madison, WI or another is SHOnut Performance).

Are you sure its the oil pressure that caused the bearings to go? That is a common occurence to need to replace the rod/main bearings on these cars. I'd bet my left nut the oil pump is just fine......

I have to agree, SHOshop I've heard has not so good Customer Relations, but I had no problem dealing with them. FPS IMHO is way too overpriced, I've dealt with Josh T at SHOnut Performance, very nice guy, very recommended!

I would stay away from SHOshop, far far away, they have been known for charging peoples credit cards, and not sending out the product.

Last I knew, Fred at www.neshospecialists.com had a few left. He's not a parts store, but runs a SHO specialists shop and would probably be able to help you out, or know exactly who has what.

I have heard the same with the sho shop. I have heard people say great things about them and others say they wouldnt deal with them anymore. I personally never had a problem ordering parts through them but thats not to say others dont and wont.

See, SHOshop used to be really good, they had to be, they were the only ones around. But now, they're a joke.

Sho shop isnt that bad as long as they have what you want in stock. I ordered alot of stuff from them and got the stuff they had in stock quickly, but I had to harrass them to get my cams out of them, not to mention I ordered bbbs from them in like may of last year. But Dave at tiny avenger motorsprots handles all their sales now, and hes good to deal with. By the way, Sho shop hasnt been able to get oil pumps in years. Im think Im going to find someone to rebuild the one I have.

that is true. I left when he was getting out of it but then we ended up stripping 60 or so SHOs and putting all the parts in a huge storage unit. He still sells the parts and right now he will sometimes buy one car at a time and strip the bitch down at once insted of having 60 cars at a time. I used to post on shoforum.com alot but there is a lot of dumbasses on there and most of them were like " he is a ripoff" but goodluck finding a whole bunch of parts anywhere else with the knowalge he has... and we all know that EVERY SHO out there needs a part or two in its life!
