heat shield rattling

there's a rattling noise everytime i get on my cobra. so i took it to the exhaust shop today and they determined it was the heat shield on my cat rattling. they welded it back down by said that it will probably keep kicking loose. so they said i have 2 options.

1. remove the heat shield. they said it was dangerous because grass or any paper or anything that gets stuck to it will catch fire.

2. replace the cat.

are those my only options? and if so, what should i do?

yup, those are your only opyions.
well else do you think you could do. just replace it or fix it.lol
i'd just rip the heat shield off. i've done that about a dozen times. never had a fire.

just rip it off. youll be fine. You could solve the whole problem and buy an off road midpipe only about 150 shipped.
