After making a few phone calls yesterday I found out that the 99-04 guys will probably never see a bolt on Tiger Racing hood. From what I gather parts are being made again but anything new is not on the back burner but rather has fallen behind the stove. This is due to the unfortunate passing of Paul Brown from what I was told (RIP). This was the hood I was holding out for. Finding out that we will probably never see one got me looking into alternatives for heat extraction. I have narrowed it down to two options. 1. The Steeda Q400 hood with open louvers. There was a thread about this some time ago and the consensus was that opening up the louvers should work but there may be some modifications required such as a small 1/2in lip at the front. For the few who may not know what it looks like Steeda 1999-04 Mustang Fiberglass Cowl Hood w/ Louvers - Made in the USA. 2. The Saleen Extreme hood. This hood looks very similar to the Tiger Racing hood but with smaller and less vents. You can check it out here 1999-2004 Mustang TruFiber A70 Saleen Extreme Style Hood. I am leaning towards the Saleen hood because it is close to the Tiger Hood and I know it works. The Saleen hood won’t be as efficient but I think it will do better than the Steeda piece. So out of these two option what would you choose?
