The car is blowing out cold air when I turn the heat on even after the car has gotten up to normal operating temperature.

I tried turning the heat to full blast and cycling the temperature from cold to hot. When I had the heat on full blast and the temperature to cold the car actually started running cooler, the temperature guage starting going toward cold.

Could the problem be that the theromstat isn't opening and closing properly?

So far the car doesn't over heat.

have you recently changed the coolant in your car. it sounds like you may have air in the system. when the car cools down, open the threaded screw at the coolant crossover tube, and see if there's room to add coolant.

Nope, i haven't recently done anything to the vehicle, and that's what's strange. The only mods on the car are a CAI and catback that were put on 2 years ago.

Well, now the car is running hot and the heat is still blowing cold air. I'm taking it into the dealership today.

Got the car back from the dealership. It was the thermostat. I don't want to even tell you guys how much they charged me just to change the thermostat. Let's just say they said, it was a 2 hour job.

Yikes, should just paid them for the diagnosis and changed it out yourself...

Then you could of at least went for a 180 or a 160 t-stat.

Now your stuck with another factory, and myself being a penny pincher, could not justify buying an aftermarket T-stat after just paying a dealer out the arse to replace the broken one...

The wife wouldn't justify it either... Lol

I do not believe it was the thermostat, I think the dealer lied.

The car will overheat if the thermostat sticks, for sure.

I agree. And even if it was stuck open (unlikely), you would still get at least some heat. :bs:

a thermostat can cause a lack of heat concern. the 2.0 split ports in the escorts and focus's, and especially 3 liter tauruses. are good for that...ya i changed a few in my day, until ford dicked me now i work on flippin KIA's:bash:

if the cooling system has more air than coolant in it, then there's nothing to tell the temp sending unit that its hot. the temp gauge on a car with no water in it will often read cold when the car is about to sieze from overheating.

no heat from the heater is a sure sign your cooling system has emptied itself somehow.

its only been posted here about 800,000 times that you cant trust the factory gauges. sometimes you actually have to open the hood and look at stuff. like whats in the overflow tank.
