Looking for a new head unit for my car, its on its last legs, and Its pissing me off to no end. Over the past few months, if not a couple years, my head unit has been giving me issues, specifically when I play a cd, whenever I hit a bump the speakers cut out or back in. or if I change the cd real quick it will go back to normal, during the cold months it tends to skip.

I went to a couple of car audio specialist and told me it could be anything from a bad amp to a bad wire, or something isn't properly grounded, my car has bose audio and from what people tell me bose tends to sodder they wiring.

I don't know what to do. I just want something that works, my speakers work fine with the radio but thats it. but when it comes to playing cd's it gives me trouble.

Double din or single?

I would start here and just look for one you like. (Sort Price: Lowest First) All Car Stereos | Car Stereos and Head Units | Car Audio | Car Audio, Video & GPS at Sonic Electronix

Kenwood, JVC, and Alpine IMO make the best head units.

Dash looks like this.

No one's got ideas, I am not looking to spend more then a 1000 if not slightly more, Anyone know if companys who make flip up nav screens with single dins? thinking of redoing the whole audio system, from speakers to maybe one sub. I just want crisp sound and clarity. currently have stock bose, hate it.

I would do a double din over a flip out. Ive owned both and my double din's are so much better. Look on ebay for them. I buy all mine off of there and never one problem. I love alpine and am biased but the alpine ina-w910bt is a super nice h/u with built in navigation and bluetooth. If you want a good flip out my old alpine iva-d310 trumped all others ive heard (same speaker set up in same vehicles) on sound quality. The sound processor is 2nd to none on that h/u. If you want to bypass the alpine's and use an amp DO NOT USE THE PAC TR7! It will not allow the unit to be bypassed once you hook up the remote to the amp. I fried a few of them before I got online and figured it out. There is another company on ebay making a bypass that worked perfectly in my truck when I had my double din in there.
