Headliner trim up front?

Recently purchased an 03. One of the items I used to get the price lower is the headliner. It is in great shape everywhere except all the day up front. See pic for what I’m talking about. Is there a piece of plastic or metal trim that goes here and holds the headliner base to the roof? Or did some idiot make the headliner too short when they redid it. I can see a metal ridge in there and it almost looks like a trim piece would fit perfectly, but a search has left me clueless. Any help would be appreciated.

The land of commies and socialists!
I just went out to my car and checked and there is no trim piece there.

It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like your headliner is hanging down. Mine is pretty tight up against the windshield.

I can see the foam backing on mine only if I twist my head to the same angle the windshield is at. Otherwise it just looks like it ends at the windshield.

Maybe something happened to yours or its drooping?

The headliner is separating from the backing. Does your windshield have the Pony over the mirror?

Unfamiliar with what you’re asking, are you asking if there’s the mustang pony logo overlayed on my rear view?

Thanks for checking, I may just have to find a way to hold it back up. It feels like it is naturally bent to the position it is sitting in now, so I’m wondering how I can correct it.

On the factory windshield there is a pony logo on the glass right above the rear view mirror mount. It might be the angle of the pic you posted, but I don't see the pony. If it's not there then the windshield has been replaced at some point. Which could mean when it was replaced the people that did the work were a little rough around the headliner and that's what caused it to start separating.

I recently had mine replaced due to the same issue. The upholstery shop said it's because they basically shrink due to age and heat. I bought a new one as they are now plastic backed instead of cardboard.
