The fine rock chips and fade on my headlights have bothered me enough, so it's time to polish them up. There are several kits out there, but most are around $20. I've also heard wet sanding with 1500 grit, followed by 3000 grit, and finally Meguiar's PlastiX works good. Any preferences?

I do headlight repair as a part of my business, wetsand them in one direction with 800, then 1000 and either pay a painter to spray them with clear...or if you want to do it yourself get some high temp clear and layer about 7 light coats and they'll be as good as new.

I'd rather pay considerably less to make my perfectly good headlights look like new.

Vette Eater, why one direction for wet sanding? Most of what I've read shows the use of high speed buffers.

I use some stuff made by Blue Magic that restores the lenses. Only product from Blue Life I have ever used that actually works. Goes on like car wax, very easy. Great results that last a few weeks or so...
