Reviving an old thread... I apologize. But I'm getting a very similar noise and I think the issue is the locking header bolts. The e clip is able to free spin and make a metal on metal noise. I'm running stainless works longtubes on my 07 gt500 along with the stage 8's. From my research, it seems most complaints of this odd noise have be locking header bolts in common.
