You can't HDR a single picture. In order to do a HDR photo you got to take many different pictures of the same angle if I remember right.

An HDR image is a composite of 2 or more images taken from the same camera position using different exposures.

EDIT: It's possible to do it with one image if it's captured in RAW format.

ahhh ok sorry guys, not familiar with HDR and the process. I thought it was just one pic, highly modified to make an HDR pic.

by the way what is RAW format. Is it possible to have a raw format on my digital??

RAW images are void of the compression information like JPG and TIF, but contains other information that's useful in post work. Information like certain camera settings like exposure that can be adjusted using software specific to RAW manipulation. Images captured in RAW contain wider dynamic ranges. It's the variety of dynamic range images that create the HDR image.

Good lord, this is the 536th thread to ask about HDR on a single picture. Do a freakin search.

You can make a hdr picture from one picture if you have adobe light room because lightroom allows you to adjust the picture's exposure

Not really. If you start with a jpg image that has a completely washed out sky, you aren't going to be able to bring back a lot of the data in the sky because it was never captured in the first place.
