HDMI cable question

Just bought a SONY 5.1 receiver. It has 2 HDMI inputs and one HDMI output.

It says one HDMI input is for DVD and the other BD (blue ray disk).

I plan on connecting my cable DVR and DVD player to the receiver with HDMI hookups.

Can I plug my cable DVR HDMI output into the BD HDMI input??

Basically, does the receiver care/know what the input is as long as it is HDMI??

The receiver doesn't know/care what's connected to it. HDMI is HDMI.

Nice...the booklet read as if they were unique inputs.

Just ordered my HDMI cables online...saved about $80 by not buying them at Best Buy.

HDMI does carry both audio and video, you do not need optical cables.
