I went out to the track and made a total of 3 runs.
My 1st run I was running with 35psi in the nittos :kaboom: and bogged hard on the 1s run.
My 2nd run I missed 2nd gear so that run was wasted.

Then finaly on my last run I made a clean pass.

Nitto's had 18 psi and I did a 3 sec burnout.
I was launching at around 2,000rpm
Temp was 88F

60'... 1.993
330... 5.635
1/8... 8.463
MPH... 88.11
1000... 10.846
1/4... 12.8
MPH... 110.78

I was shifting right around 6,000-6,200 but on this run I crossed the towers in the middle of 4th.
I know I need to work on shifting faster, and cutting down my 60' time. This was my 1st time to the track with this car. I'm gonna get BF diff. brace, and some subframes before I head out again.

I just wanted to get some pointers and advice on what I need to do for next time.

I know the most important thing is practice, practice, practice...
Thanks

With your mods it would seem as though there is an incredible amount of timing being pulled. Even with hot weather and little experience at the track the mph should be a LOT higher through the 1/8th and the 1/4.

Yea, that MPH should be 120 or more. These cars trap 110 stock. How much power did you put down with your mods?

Before the port it was 450/500
Im running 23 Deg timing and my A/F was 11.8 dipping to 12.0
I wish I would have datalogged the runs to see if their was any changes in any parameter..

Their was about a 15mph headwind but I dont know if that would cause that big of a loss. Im gonna dyno again and see if I can spot any problems

By the look of your 330' time, I'd say you spun pretty much through 1st gear and took your time shifting into 2nd. You have plenty more in car, like you mentioned, just gotta practice, practice, practice.......

A headwind can definitely cut down your mph, it happened on one of my runs last Sunday

If thats the case, it shouldnt come as a surprise since the track we go to isnt always the best preped track.

knowfreed0m, my mods are nearly identical to yours and with a 60' that was similiar to yours in which I spun pretty much through first gear, here were my results vs yours:

knowfreed0m
60'.....1.993.....................1.999
330... 5.635....................5.471
1/8... 8.463.....................8.091
MPH...88.11....................95.01
1000..10.846...................10.329
1/4....12.8......................12.184
MPH...110.78...................120.2

I'm not the best driver in the world by any stretch of the imagination.......

Those are some good numbers IronTerp.
I didn't wet my tires when doing the burnout, I think I should back into the box and then pull up and dry em off with like a 5 sec burnout no?

I think you're right about the not hitting the 1-2 shift fast enough. I was nervous about so many things like not looking like an idiot, not breaking something, not crashing.. lol

I know for a fact I was spinning out the hole, but like Fleeman said this track isnt that great.

I'm soooo looking forward to going back again on a test and tune night because I know I can get better times. :)

I should be crossing the towers at the top of 4th right? On all of my runs I was crossing them at about 4,000rpm in 4th gear, hence the low trap. Am I correct?

While it's certainly preferred to pull around the water and back in to keep water off the front tires, most all of us drive right thru it and do a light spin through the water and then do a 3 to 6 second burnout about 5 feet past the water box.

My first time with the Terminator at the track was back in spring of 04' and I got in 9 runs and made every mistake known to man: traction control on, Nittos w/ 35 psi, missed 3rd a couple of times, bogged, spun, redlighted.......you name it. But learned a lot and started relaxing a bit.

And yes, you should be hitting the 1/4 mile traps between 5,500 and 6,000 with your 3.55 gears.

We're lucky in the MACA in that we have one track rental per month from May to September and these provide a great opportunity to get some good quality runs in. I've botched my launch at rentals before, just cruised on down the track in 20 seconds, drove down the return lane and right back to the staging lanes........

All I can say is you need much more seat time and track runs.. Those times are pretty far off from the capability of your car. My 03 went 11.7@119 with intake exhaust , and a 2.8 pulley... With a port and a lower, you should be mid 11's @120+. Headwind can effect your trap by a few mph. But your easily 10+mph off
