Having this gun custom built just like I designed. Can't wait to get it. It is from Stealth Arms. It is called the Platypus. (For real). They have the best design tool on their website to build guns. Going to use it for a little bit of carry but mainly for indoor competitions. One of the neatest things about this 1911 style gun is that it takes Glock magazines.

nice piece…. Looks like a t1c centurion, if so, how do you like it? Any experience with Safariland 6354 DOs?
It's actually a custom holster from an LAPD officer I met while in Socal. Its an awesome holster with a spring assisted retention hood. To answer your question, yes I have ALOT of experience with the safariland 6354. It's on my battle belt (firearms instructor) love the holster. A "NubMod" is a MUST!

Ah! Thought it was the Tier1 holster…. Been interested in one of those, very very similar design!

pretty cool and best thing is the bang for the buck. Very very nice price for what you get.

I had read about that trick, but decided to go the route I did first. For me, it worked. I would definitely try the wax paper trick if the fit was super tight.

That's a cool product. I see that it doesn't harm the gun's finish. but do have to continually wipe down the gun? I would imagine so.

No. It puts a little glaze on the leather but you would not know it is there.

Beware of conditioning products and whatever you do DONT put baseball glove conditioner on your leather.

My only issue with these is that the thumb "lever" has to be activated by pushing your thumb towards the grip of your gun enough to have to re-work a proper grip. This is why the safariland holster is better. The thumb lever movement is minimal and keeps your grip in place. Just my opinion based on MY experience and hand size. May not be the case for someone else

Have you shot one yet? I have put about 200 rounds through a buddies a few weeks back. Honestly, they are very sweet. Just my opinion shooting a P and a Platypus (Commander)back to back, i would say they are neck and neck. I would say the trigger on the Plat (4lbs) is a hair better than the P and the Staccato’s build quality is slightly better.

No sir, I have not shot one yet. Just taking Honest Outlaw's word on it. :) That is good to hear. Honest Outlaw hinted that he liked it better than a Staccato. As a matter of fact, I sold my Staccato C2 since I was having this gun built. I actually went with the competition trigger on a commander so it is supposed to come in at 2.5lbs. Thanks for the info!

HO probably one of the best gun channels for sure. I absolutely love the C2. I plan is to pick one up around Christmas if funds allow. Honestly, in my opinion, you will be happy with the Platypus. Its definitely a great shooter. Like you, I’m starting to get into local competitions and may end up with one. Started with IDPA over the summer and I’m addicted.
