I thought I saw a thread on handgun for ccw recommendations but a search brought up one from 2013.

Tired of stressing about getting my service weapon jacked when I leave it in a hotel or something so time for a personal.

Not much of a gun nut so not a ton of knowledge. Carry HK at work. Want a 9mm double stack.

The fellow traveling back and forth to St Judes for his sick boy was asking because he's on the road so much. My two cents? G19 gen 4, or an M&P 2.0 Compact.

I don't know that CCW was as much his interest as just having a good "road gun".

Ok that could be where I saw it; thanks.

I'll hit some stores and see what feels right later in the week.

Beautiful gun. Does your IDPA club have a specialty division running carry optics? We're not seeing it here yet, but I expect we will at some point.
Thank you, and yes there is a class for iron sights, and optics.

Which HK do you carry at work? I like to keep my weapons systems the same when my life depends on it. I'd recommend the VP9SK (striker) or P30SK (hammer) depending on which is most similar to your work gun.

I'd be interested if they had an out the door 300 blackout version.

I do clean my guns often but I hate it.

I'm the exact opposite. I almost never clean my guns. Unless dirt gets in them, I just throw lube at them when they start to dry up. I get way better and consistent performance out of a weapon with a fouled barrel.

But... almost all of my rifles are either bolt or piston systems. So, I don't have much of a problem with carbon build-up on any of my weapons. Pistols... just keep gunk out of the trigger group and you're fine.
