looking into a gt500 short block for my lightning. ive been reading everything i can about these and haven't found to many blown engine threads. my long-term goal is to be around 600 to the tires and be able to beat the sh-t out of it and maybe some trips to the drag strip. Is this a good option for me, and if so any advice on things to upgrade or change before dropping it in?
thanks in advance:beer:

Buy the FRPP 5.4 shortblock.
Accepts 2 or 4 valve heads.
And you can spin it as high as your valvetrain/supercharger allows.

get something with better rods. the stock short block out of a gt500 is best used to about 18 psi anything over that is pushing the limits. also take into consideration weight difference from the lightning to the gt500. im not sure if the L is lighter then the shelby, but if the L is heavier will also be a factor.

Last thing, cooling for the motor is needed as well so look into a bigger heat exchanger too
