I just installed RTR axle backs in place of my GT500s. Its hard to beat the GT500s for sound and price, but I really like the way the RTRs sound. What do you think? Exhaust setup consists of JBA long tubes with an O/R X pipe, and stock OAPs. I wanted do a few more revs with the RTRs but it was 8 in the am.

Post a before and after so we can really tell which one was the better option :)

I think you're going to like the RTR though. I heard it in person a couple weeks ago, sounds great.

GT500. I cant believe how quiet the RTR's are. IMO GT500 axlebacks are one of the best around. If they had nicer tips they would be perfect. The OEM tips dent way too easily

The RTRs are nice and quite with some base in it. Agreed GT500 need nicer tips

Whats the weight difference between the RTR's and GT500s?

I believe the RTRs weight about 7-8 lbs lighter each.

Thanks for the vids, I've been eyeing RTR's for awhile, just can't justify the purchase when buying parts to build the motor.

the RTR's sound alot quieter than the GT500's.

I have the Magnaflow Street series AB's and seem louder than that. Could be the camera also.

No not the same volume. deeper with some base, and somewhat quieter.

Stage 3 motorsports $525 shipped with a discount code. Not terrible.

No you are right they are quieter. And the iPhone doesn't have the best video

Aren't the RTRs similar to magnaflows

They say magnaflow on the bottom. And these are half straight though and half chambered. Pretty cool design.
I had the kooks and they were a straight through design, a lot louder with a ton of base. They only lasted a week on my car.

Definitely RC. Maybe this Friday. I couldn't stand the kooks. Way to loud. I really like these RTRs They really have a nice sound to em. Yes you have to hear them in person. PS. The gt500 s are great too. I am just looking for something a little different and possibly quieter. I think I found em.

Im just going with a setup using stock VMP injectors and 82 pulley and keep it around the 580/520 mark for now, and upgrade the rims and just have some fun with it and go to some shows.

I always mess around with different mufflers and at the end of the day I end up sticking with the 500s, contemplating quads but I'm not sure if those differ in sound In comparison to the single tip ones
