Coonsnake did it, I think there are a few others now. A quick google search turned up a free results for me. It's definitely a cool idea IMO, but probably extremely costly.
Many have done it, the install is easy, the driveshaft length needs to measured.

The 6R80 (upgraded clutches and input/output shafts) would be sweet in this car.
