That's just an air scoop like on the 2012-13 Boss 302 Laguna Seca.

Yes it will direct air to the trans, but it's still not a pump, external lines and cooler like on the track pack cars.

I would hardly say this Shelby scoop "resolves" the problem

track tested and proven to.....do what?

Lower trans temps?

What exactly are you trying to resolve, the limp mode from prolonged track sessions and high trans temps?

I do believe this could help slightly, but if it was that easy to mitigate trans cooling issues on the tech pack cars, Ford would have done it from the factory.

Do the stock cats cause some of this? Would this scoop and an off-road exhaust still have a problem?

The cats run right along the transmission in the tunnel. I would assume that has a lot to do with it. I have the scoop also but haven't seriously tracked my car, only autocross. I would highly recommend buying the coolers if you plan to seriously track the car. If not, just enjoy it as is. It's still just as capable othwerwise.
