am i going to have to modify anything or upgrade anything else to put this fuel pump in my 99 tank?

Yes, to fit the basket, carefully trim the black tube down to the outlet so It will fit snugly in the pprv and trim the outlet length to match the stock outlet height. I also needed to shave some of the white plastic behind the electrical blades to clear the basket so the PPRV screw holes would line up properly. I've got an extra basket I've been prepping a GT pump to be installed.
Some folks delete the pprv, I tried this once but, had severe driveability issues and the FRPS started throwing codes so I removed the pump and will now mod it to work properly with the PPRV.
