Those ratios surprise me but tremec would know best what they need.

Truth told, you really don’t need a short spread of gears with 7500rpm and 750hp... I remember my t56 had
2.66
1.78
1.3
1.0
with a 3.55 rear and 26” tires when it made 660-756whp at 6500rpm, and the gearing felt too short.

My current combo is a t56 same ratios but 3.73 rear and 8k rpm, 26” tire, feels slightly too short.

If the 2020gt500 is hitting 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with:
•7500rpm
•those ratios
•28” tire
•3.73

that means it’s reaching:

1st 53mph
2nd 81mph
3rd 117mph
4th 152mph
5th 194mph
6th 246mph
7th 299mph

GTR has crazy close ratio DCT and it works awesome . pretty much 30mph difference in every gear

Another question I would like an answer to are the wheel/tire sizes for the base car. In the brochure, it mentions the Carbon Track Pack car will yield Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in 305/30/20 (front) and 315/30/20 (rear). Will the base model with aluminum 20" wheels have the same width wheels/tires? Or will they be in the variant of 285/35/20's on a 9.5" rear wheel like the 13/14 MY cars? Gosh I would hope not.

They are suppose to be the same size but Michelin Pilot Sport 4S

1:1

It is an Excel spreadsheet that I made up for my 13 GT500, just had to add a gear.

Very nice, I asked because the prior page read 1.10:1 which I was originally disappointed with but it’s whatever. I’m glad there is a true 1:1 in it if you’re correct, it makes a dyno pull actually worth the time of comparing with other numbers. It’s bad enough how much variation dyno numbers from different days, cars and places can be, throw in some modern transmissions going with a cluster devoid of a 1:1, and then it’s complete hogwash

I wonder if the 350R Foil will be available as an option? Call me a ricer, but I dig the hell out of that wing.

I plan to buy and use one basically anytime except a hardcore track outing.

I think the gt500’s front and rear ends would really compliment the airfoil

Just got off the phone with Tremec and they couldn't help with the internal ratios until Ford releases them, but they did say 1.1 was not correct for 4th gear, it is 1:1.

I found the original document. I shows 1.1, so don't know if it is correct or not.
Ford may have changed the ratios for the GT500.

Alternative ratios available upon request; may result in different maximum input torque

At 7500 rpm 3 overdrives are useless. Per the previous post 152 in 4 gear. Time to install 4.30 rear end.

Keep in mind a gt350 has an aluminum driveshaft.

The GT350 uses a two piece steel driveshaft that is very similar to those used in previous generation S197 cars (it has no guibo joint and other S550 chassis cars do).

Your weights are fairly close and I think you are on the right track. There has been some minor weight reduction elsewhere but until Ford allows a much deeper dive we really can't be much more accurate.

...has Ford/Tremec implemented additional strengthening hardware within the DCT being used that will beef it up?

The GT500 is the first car to benefit from a Tremec DCT. I wouldn't reference the dated spec sheet that they have had available for download for some time on their website without caveat. Any data shown was way early and you can trust that the GT500 specific unit is geared/equipped just as Ford wanted - just as the Corvette DCT will be as well.

They at least offered some media mention recently but it doesn't provide much data.

As soon as I saw the embargoed media on this car I was scratching my head as there was no clarity with respect to wheel width sizes. It sounded as if the base car rear wheel will be .5" narrower than the CF Track rear wheel. I've been off grid since this car was announced so I haven't seen if Ford has made a specific declaration as to whether front wheel widths are the same across the board.

Michelin only offers a 315/30/20 in Cup 2's, no PSS, PS4 or PS4s offerings in this size. So unless Ford made Michelin wait to offer a 315/30/20 in a PS4s until after announcing the GT500 there is no the wheel widths/tire sizes will be the same.

It's possible the base model could come with all four corners running 20x11 with 305/30/20 but we will just have to wait and see.
