Gps mounting

I use my gps pretty much constantly. My 4-5 year old one is dying. Gonna get a new one, just wondering if anyone is using the "sandbag" dash mount, and does really hold, or is it gonna go flying when I stomp on it or take a fast turn?

I used the solid plastic backer and attached it to the passenger side airbag cover

I use my electronics package... Lol but seriously, those sandbag things never work. One slight turn and it goes flying.
