Hi guys,

I got my new CompCam lifters & lube yesterday...
any tips or advice for installing it Saturday????

I am putting it in straight up & the stock(new) valve springs
only have 15k miles on them so they should be fine.

The cam is supposedly a bolt in, no problems & +25hp?????

I am hoping to just pick up 2 tenths & 2 mph?????

Been 14.5, hoping for a 14.3.

But... the cam &/or lifters was going out anyway, that is why
I am replacing.

cam install

TAKE YOUR TIME. It wouldn't hurt to get a new timming chain at the same time. You wont have to remove your a.c. condensor. Just make sure you have all the gaskets you need.(intake, water pump, maybe vavle cover gaskets.)This is normally a long weekend job. Make sure your motor is at TDC. so the cam is installed straight up. are you going with the retro fit kit to hydralic, or just oem replacement with a little more lift.? What all do you have done to hit 14.5 not that bad. I hope to get my dads 95 in to the high 13's. It keeps up with my 01L. Should be close.

It is a factory replacement that is a little better.
I really wanted to switch to roller, but not for an extra $400+.

The truck has the diesel air intake plastic tube. (2 solid tenths)
Pulleys, and electric fan, 1.7 rockers,K&N removed and iced intake.

I also have the spare tire out and leave the line by flashing the
converter. Factory replacement Firestone Firehawks.

The valve springs & seals were new 20k miles ago. They made
a difference of 1 solid tenth. Truck had 87k miles on it then.

I think it is around the same year.

It hooks in your factory airbox, but it shoots out toward the
grill opening perfectly.

There is some trimming of the curved end that points toward
the grill, but it is only about an inch or 2.

Then you pull a flap inward and put a hole and zip tie it, and
you can look straight through the right side (driver's) of the
grill and you can look straight into the air tube.

I swear me & my buddy both picked up "2" solid tenths.

The intake tube is only about $12-$16.

Goodluck......II-)
