Just finished detailing my 05 with menzerna and a coat of Collinite 845 (I am very impressed with this wax). I was wondering if there is any good OTC soap that will not strip the wax? I know most claim they won't, but it just doesn't seem that way from my personal experience. Also any suggestions for cleaning the engine compartment? I am a little nervous about spraying it down even if i do cover certain components with plastic. Thanks.:-D

Meguiar's Gold Class car soap will not remove the wax. It is one of the better OTC soaps out.

As far as you engine bay is concerned. Lightly mist the compartment and spray it down with diluted Simple Green. Scrub any reas with a bristle brush and wipe-off. Lightly mist it off and wipe it down with a clean towel. Dress and your done.

Make sure your motor is cool

I use the turtle wax ICE soap... The actual wax kinda sucks though, I just like the wash soap
