Is this a doctor you've been to before? If you trust him[ not all of them have your best interests in mind] be straight up with him.

See, I did both.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for some depression issues I have been having for the past year or so. Im just feeling down all the time, not getting any sleep and hardly any motivation to do anything. When I get home I hit the recliner and when im off on weekends. I have tried date nights with the wife and I usually cut up and have fun but lately I havent been talking alot.

No issues at home with my wife or with my friends and family, but its starting to affect my sex life and interactions with my family. I cant really tell what has triggered it. I have been on prozac, zoloft, lexapro and something else with no results, actually made things worse so I stopped taking them.

I do have a semi high stress job in the auto industry, but I love my job.

Money is kinda tight, but whos isnt? I do have a few debt collectors harassing the sh!t out of us, but they cant do more than that.

Any advice from any of you guys that have been through this and what I should tell the doctor?

First off, what kind of doctor are you going to see? How old are you? Have you had blood work taken and your testosterone measured?

Best of luck with your recovery. Keep positive thoughts in mind. There are millions of people that experience these situations and most cases are eventually curtailed.

For now its my family doctor, I have no insurance at work yet and most specialist docs are extremely expensive. Ive had bloodwork done a year ago and everything was normal. Its like I seem to wear myself out "worrying" about things that I shouldnt have to or dont need to.

You're probably depressed because you have a camaro and are subconsciously wishing you could come over to where the grass is greener.

Screw anti-depressants. Try librium! It's a weak benzo that lasts long like valium but won't knock you out as hard. They give it to drunks and people with restless leg syndrome etc... You should find a way without drugs though. As for what you should tell the doctor... how about the truth? It's kind of ridiculous that you're asking people on a car forum what you should tell your doctor about YOU. Unless he's a total moron, he should be able to sniff out any BS you're giving him pretty quickly.

Two things come to mind;
Testosterone as said above and diabetes.
Both have those sort of symptoms. Low T sometimes has a person waking up after sleeping just a bit, you sleep a little can't sleep, sleep a little. I've heard it called "night walking" because you cant sleep and just prowl the house out of restlessness. With low T one classic sign is "itchy/sensitive nipples" as the estrogen in your body starts to work on you with the T being too low to counteract the effects.

Both are simple to detect and treat, low T is pretty cheap to treat. Diabetes can from cheap to hella expensive to treat.

Have your thyroid checked. Hypothyroidism (low thyroid) can cause many of those symptoms.

Don't let a doctor put you on anti-anxiety drugs right away. The side effects can be... depression and suicidal thoughts.

I had the same symptoms as you...went to an endocrinologist and had a blood test a few weeks back, which showed my vitamin D level low... started taking 10,000 units a week, and am feeling downright frisky and fully alert. Make sure you get your chem balances checked out.
