Now I know the economy is really in the toilet, GM will discontinue the Avalanche, due to poor sales. I have owned a few over the years, thought they were selling well still? I wonder what/if they replace it with. To bad I liked em

To be honest I actually really liked them at first. The more I saw them the more I began to hate them, and besides asthetics (sp?) they are completely pointless. Buy a truck if you want a truck, buy an SUV if you want an SUV. The avalanche has a useless bed and imo serves no purpose

i think the last generation looked great! more utilitarian than a tahoe but still comfortable enough for a dinner run.

i would have loved to get a 2011 model LTZ in black on black.

Its a metal box topped with plastic. Its a crap look IMO.

Now had they not used plastic it would've looked alot better. But then again, I hear GM isnt doing too good with any of their cars. Maybe their "Simulations" computer isn't calibrated correctly.....

BAHAHA that was hilarious... but i honestly thought they would have stopped selling the avalanche long ago. never thought it was a good idea nor did i see many on the road to suggest that they sold well.

Dunno why it took them so long to come to their senses. Damn things are useless AND ugly. Not a very good combination.

I loved them when they first came out, and then fell back in love with the newer ones. I have a hundred people a day ask me about em when I stock em, but they are a hard sale for sure!!

Are you kidding me?

This was the perfect truck..............

For people that are worried about vehicle theft.

Nobody would steal an Avalanche. EVER.

I'm not a big fan of the 2nd gen but I like the 1st gen. My dad has 2002 avalanche 2500 with the 8.1 and 3.73s and it doesn't skip a beat. Other than regular maintenance it hasn't had any problems and it has 260k miles and counting. He pulls a 16ft dual axle enclosed trailer daily without a hiccup. The bed isn't really much smaller than a standard bed and it has the option of folding the back seats to make the bed longer.

I had an '04 2500 model and loved it. Wish I had kept it.
