Thank you for stating this. Its hard for people to grasp that if a company the size of GM fail what the impact would be. Rarely does anyone think about the Tier I, II, III suppliers who are contracted by GM to produce parts for their cars. The fallout would be massive and the job loss would be tenfold what it was had GM failed. People tend to think that it would just be GM failing and being bought out or closed down. Its not like an individual going bankrupt its a whole different scale.

BULLSHIT - see my reply to this!! It's called crony capitalism Obama Style. Same as he did for Solyndra etc. It's a freaking hoax and you all fell for it:nonono:

lol, I love how everyone blames Obama when Bush was the one who started the bailout. If your gonna blame one you gotta blame the other. Oh and a "socialist" would not be giving money to wall street and large corporations. I can always tell when someone watches too much FAUX news. :)

People also ignore what would happen with the demand of car buying (with one less company). People still want and need automobiles so wouldn't those who would nave been GM customers now move on towards other car manufacturers who in turn would need to expand (facilities, workers, etc..,) to meet the increased demand in their product(s)?

Yes funny I don't remember anyone saying the whole thing collapsing when Studebaker and AMC went belly up. It is the same even with GM when they go someone else is there to fill the void.

But I garrantee no one not even someone that is in the pocket of the UAW is going to be pushing for another bailout. Not unless they want to see a lot of political casualties from it when the dust settles in 2014.

My friend- you are ASSuming that GM would go away completely as a result of Bankruptcy. That is absolutely incorrect- MOST huge corporations or companies carry on after bankruptcy (look at the airline industry if you don't believe me) The fact is GM would have restructured it's debts, contracts and business practices/relationships which caused them to go bankrupt in the first place. Of course they are in the same position now because NONE of that happened.

Well if you actually did your homework you'd know that while the bailout started under Bush Obama expanded it greatly after he got to office- he added almost 300 billion to the already bloated bailout. Another liberal fun fact I see you have chosen to ignore is that the 09 budget is the ONLY budget that Obama put forth that was actually approved. All congress has done is put through continuing resolutions - all this does is does is keep the last approved budget in place. So guess what that means. The 09 budget that has the 900+ billion dollar stimulus is automatically part of every single budget since 09- IOW's it's not just ONE stimulus- it's been 3 so far. So how's that stimulus working? We down to 5% unemployment yet? Is our economy growing at 4+ percent yet? What happened to all the promises Obama and the Dems gave us? .... wait wait- it's the Republicans fault right? Except Obama had a super majority in both houses for the first 2 yrs of his Presidency so that excuse doesn't really fly now does it? And then there is Boehner (sp?) as the speaker- arguably the worst speaker next to Pelosi albeit for different reasons- he's freaking incompetent and pretty much goes along with the President on w/e he wants. So where are your excuses NOW:nono:

you really muat not get the auto industry. You realize that Americans still need cars and they will buy other non GM cars if GM goes under. Most of GM's competiters are moving to factories in NON union states which is why they are kicking GM's ass they don't have to pay someone 75 dollars an hour to sweep the floor. Those suppliers will supply parts to other companies. So for all the hope and change people out there ill makes it simple: If a supplier was suppling 1000 headlights to GM and 1000 to VW and GM goes under and those sales goto VW then guess what VW needs to order 2000 headlights. And as far as the union factory workers. Screw them let them find jobs that pay a realistic salary to their skill level. Unions killed GM because there cost makes GM have to put out an inferior car at the same price point as a better car.
