getting hot!!

the hot wires coming from the electric fans are getting hot,look at the red wire in the picture,it gets hot in less than a minute of the motor running.
any ideas what could be wrong?

Bad ground somewhere. Or faulty wiring where 2 hots are touching

One of the fans is prolly going bad. Swap the hot wires and see if the other one gets hot.

What fade meant is swap the two red wires. If it is a 2 fan setup, and 1 fan is going bad, that motor will draw more power, and create heat in the wiring. If you swap the wires between the fans, and the new wire also gets hot, the fan is going bad.

The guage of your wire looks ok. Burning of wires is cause by like what silver03svt said, a ground or to much amperage draw. Try to get your hands on a amp metre and check the draw on the motor, look on the motor and it should say how much normal draw is, if it exceeds that the Motors hooped.
