gen 2 seat tear down questions

I just broke down a set of L seats that were supposed to be in excellent condition (screwed again, thanks ebay) and I ve got a few questions. are the seat frames different from the regular f150 frames?
is the foam different from the regular f150 foam?
just wanted to know if I should save anything besides the covers.

I don't know about the bottom portion (the part you sit on) of the seat frame, but the back is different because of the bolstering. There is an extra bar that extends forward from the seat frame to provide support for the side bolsters.

only thing different as far as I know is that the Lightning seats have a metal bolster on both passenger and driver sides.

That little metal bolster can be cut off and re-welded to the regular F-150 seat frame. Thats what I ended up doing. The seat padding is different on the lower section just because of that. And generally that little piece cuts right threw the padding real bad. If you are going to do the Expy conversion, be sure to beef up that area while its apart. Good luck with it.:beer:
