So I was going to go 4.30s on the cobra but they seem to be sort of scarce now. Is there really that much difference in going 4.10 instead? You can pick up a full 4.10 kit for about 275 bucks. If I wanted 4.30s I could find the motives when in stock for around 230 bucks plus buying an install kit and fluid.

The car will definitely be NA for a long time. I'll probably do a c head swap at some point but I would say that's a yearish or two away.

I'd hold out for 4.30s if it were me.
They are a perfect gear for the 96-98s, I ran them for many years on my 98.

Why are they so scarce? I'm pretty sure Ford's 4.30s are actually Motive.

On a track, the difference is about 300-400 rpm on the big end when you cross the line if you're using a 25" tall tire.

At 70mph, the difference is 250rpm, 2500 vs a tad over 2700rpm, 4.10 vs 4.30.

Get the 4.30s.

Well it seems the motive stuff goes in and out of stock. There are some other brands like Richmond and us gear that I can find the 4.30 in a better price on. Most of those reviews said they whine. But I'm going to attribute most of that to having the gear ratio it does and crappy install.
