gear oil for 3650 tranny?

im wanting to get my transmission serviced before i hit mustang week, what is a good oil to run in the 3650 transmissions?

for the early 3650's motorcraft charts shows synthetic mercon fluid, shop manual still shows mercon atf with ford has basically replaced with mercon5.. the correct fill level is when the fluid is 1/2 inch below the bottom of the fill plug..

royal purple will screw your 3650 up if you call tremec they recomend ford motorcraft atf fluid

Royal purple is bad for any syncronised trans with carbon blocker ring friction material.
