Our mustangs come with a 1-2 inch slack in the gas pedal. This is a good way to get the pedal to be more responsive and move as required without the slop that can delay a reaction and will also allow your TB blade to open completely for those "WOT occasions".
Parts needed:
-1-1.5 inch hose ($1-2), or free if you have some laying around.
-Knife or blade to slit the hose down the side
-Small hose clamp.
Step 1:
Slice the hose down the side...and slip it over the cable.
Step 2:
a. If you're a big fella and cannot get under the dash too easily, you can pop your hood open, pull back on the linkage and slide the gas pedal cable out.
b. Proceed to the pedal area, pull the cable and you should have plenty of room to install this mod.
c. Completed product below. It is very self explanatory. Do not forget to put your cable back at the throttle body linkage.
note: Using this hose makes it a softer cushion for the cable-stop and reduces risk of breaking off the end of the cable as with other kinds of harsh spacer-mods.
