Gas flap stuck open. Help!

So my car through a code, ended up being evap leak. Then when filling up I noticed that the little metal door in the filler was stuck open. Would this cause the evap leak? And how do I make it unstuck? I tried sticking my finger in there and pulling it with no luck.

My car has been like that since i bought it back in 07 ... I just left it alone. Would be nice to know an easy fix though = )

Has your check gas cap light been on too?

Large, or small evap leak? Large then yes this may be the cause, try a pick tool to get it back into place. Reset light, and see if it comes back on

check your evap lines etc. I had the gas cap light and eventually a evap leak code. Replaced 2 gas caps before checking the evap lines. Turns out it wasn't the gas cap. I had a broken evap line at the charcoal canister and my evap purge valve at the front of the car crapped out. Been fine since replacing them.
