So this happens to me yesterday when I showed up to the gym and it gave me a good laugh. It amazes me how people want to argue about things they so obviously know nothing about.
So I show up to the gym and my buddy who is a trainer stops me and tells me he has a question for me. Sure go ahead. He asks me if I would consider the 60s and 70s mustangs and camaros to be muscle cars.... I say of course they are muscle...
Right when I said that the trainer next to him jumps in and starts to say they weren't. Oh really? I ask him why not.
"SPORTS cars are good on the track and MUSCLE cars are ONLY good at straight lines"
I start laughing at this statement and say, "so according to your logic the 302 boss is not a muscle car?"
He responds with, "What's a 302 boss?"
At this point I'm thinking wtf is this guy for real? So I tell him it's a model of the mustang that tears up the track with the best of them. He responds stupidly again with, "I'm talking about stock, the way they come from the factory"... I tell him that is stock, that's how they come...all I get from that was "Oh...."
At this point there was an awkward silence and I just turned to my buddy who looked like he wanted to laugh and he said thank you and I just walked off to start my workout....
If I had to guess he was trying to sound like he knew about cars and show off because there was a bunch of young girls surrounding the desk we were all at... Yeah... That made him look just plain dumb..... Especially considering the mustang is considered a sports car and it being muscle has nothing to do with how well it takes a turn.....
