I have made up my mind to have full length subs welded in next spring after I pull her out of storage. I'm looking for everyones suggestions on which are the best ones to go with for a convertible ?

Agree. Don't know of anyone who is unhappy with Maximum Motorsports full lengths. Make sure you get them welded in properly. Only thing stronger is Griggs system, which requires dismantling of interior and channeling of unibody.

I have the MM full lengths and love them! Agree with PhillyCobra, make sure you find someone who welds good!

When you guys say find someone who welds good. Do you mean so the welds don't break or fail or because people are having problems with them being installed incorrectly? I always thought if the car wasn't sitting as it would on the street when the subframes are welded in, the body will stay tweeked.

Good weld means:

Car on wheel lift, not chassis lift.

Proper grinding and prep of painted surfaces.

Alot of areas welded.

Painting after welding to prevent corrosion.

Basically, someone who is known as good, and has done subframes before.

Thank you sir! That's pretty much what I thought. What are guys paying for install? I always though the going rate was $50 but the more and more I look into it, full lengths installed the way you described are going for $150-200. Does that sound fair to you guys? Seems a little high to me.

Thanks

Sounds appropriate. Is a 3 to 4 hour job to do properly with full length subframes. Regular or round subframes just weld up at a few points, and are thus cheaper to install, but much less useful.

Got it cut and re-welded the right way after a day or two.

2K3BRA: I used to be a KB fan. Ihave their strut tower brace and stainless steel brake lines. Recently their customer service went down hill. I discussed the KB extreme matrix with MM and they had good things to say about it....BUT...it does not tie in the full length of the sub-frames. Also, just as an FYI....the KB extreme matrix weighs a total of 40 pds whereas the MM connectors weigh 19 pounds. Lighter and better support. Just my 2 cents.
