I wasn't the original builder of the car, but I feel comfortable in saying no, you need the added clearance of the cowl hood

Nice car! Did you buy this from a guy in Indiana? Dave maybe? If so he did originally have the stock hood and it fit. I traded him my stock hood.

Yes, it was Dave's car, however to the best of my knowledge he had a tubular k member in the car and shimmed it to drop the engine slightly, which may have allowed for a stock hood. You'd need to ask him (Wldtang), to verify this. I merely bought a fantastic car from him, he did all the hard work and engineering involved in building it.

The stock 94-95 hood will not clear the eaton. The 96-98 hood will clear with a small pulley and some clearance for the IAC.
The 96-98 hood will not clear the whipple unless you do some major shimming of the k member and run a small (2.75) pulley.
