Do these provide any noticeable benefits/gains over the stock 04 cam?
Yes they are a pretty big improvement over the stock 03/04 cams when degreed to match your setup. They're a decent improvement over 98 cams even.
I made 718rwhp 683rwtq with a gen 1 2.3 whipple with 10.5:1 motor on E85 through a power hungry TH400.
They probably wouldn't do much if just thrown in lining up the dark links to the dots. Too much overlap for a PD blower. Would probably work for a turbo car though.

How many miles on the cams?
I'm not sure. They've got some wear marks but nothing that catches a nail.
