My ABS light came on today, so I put it on my ramps and took a look.

The driver side front ABS sensor wire is held on by a bracket bolted to the spindle/strut, then it runs to the whell well. Mine was clearly rubbing on the wheel, right at the top of the wheel. The copper wire had polished the very inner edge of the wheel where it rubbed.

I bent the bracket, you can bend it by hand, so it wasn't rubbing anymore.

I took a look at the passenger side, and the way it's ran on that side there's no way it could rub. The driver's side seemed to be mounted differently for some reason. I'll have to take the wheels off and take a better look at it to see why. I'll buy a new sensor myself if it saves the monkeys at the dealership from driving my car. Nothing but bad things can come from that.

After bending the bracket, the light still comes on and I can see bare copper on the sensor wire. :gt: :bash:

I'm heading up to Columbus for the NMRA event. I hope to get her on the dyno up there. I have to look at that damn light for 250 miles, would pulling the ABS fuse turn the light out, or would it stay on?

So anyways, it might be worth a trip under you car to check yours out.
