Made a trip to ATCO last night - Results are below for my four runs. The weather was exceptional and my stock Cobra got stronger with each run and as the night went on(Colder temps, less humidity).

Run 1:
ET - 13.994
1/8 - 9.186
60' - 2.335
MPH - 103.80

On this run the car spun like crazy for the first 100 feet
and shook hard between 1-2 shift.

Run2:
ET - 13.87
1/8 - 9.080
60' - 2.261
MPH - 104.05
Car hooked initially then bogged, I left the line at 2K - wish I came out harder this could have been a good run. This MPH was my highest ever to date, but the next two runs the MPH would also be higher.

Run3:
ET - 13.83
1/8 - 9.092
60' - 2.261
MPH - 104.20
Car bogged hard again this time at 2200, but MPH went up.

On this last run I let the car cool for about 45min, didn't touch the car at all.

Run 4:
ET - 13.71
1/8 - 8.965
60' - 2.185
MPH - 105.04

When I saw the timeslip I was shocked, this was my best ET and MPH ever. The car hopped like crazy off the line coming out at 2500.

With this MPH the car was making serious HP being completely stock with the air silencer. Best guess is the computer was adding timing with each run based on the driving style. Now it's time to put it on the dyno.

Anybody running 105 in the 1/4 w/ a stock 99 or 01 Cobra???
Sorry for the long post.

I just had my car at the track this past weekend. It's dead stock, save for a shifter (which doesnt count=] ). My best run was after a cool down, and removal of air silencer. It was a 13.571 @ 104.44. Pretty close to your 105mph. The best warm I got pre-!air silencer was a 13.7, the best warm I got post-!air silencer was a 13.6@103, I believe. I'm VERY happy with my car.

:) Your MPH looks real good. I ran 13.2 at 105.5 with a X pipe and Cat back. Your car is looking strong.

Tim,

What was your 60' when you ran the 13.2? Any suggestions on how to come off the line? I have tried off idle, and at 2000 up to 2800 w/ 200 rpm increments. I have only been to the track twice w/ the Cobra so with practice I'm sure to improve.

I think my problem is that I am used to leaving at
5000 w/ my 90 on slicks and dumping the clutch.

The IRS certainly tests your driving ability.

:) I launch at 3500 sliping the clutch, my best 60' is 1.9. I was the first car to run after the drag cars, they left the track nice and sticky. On my 13.2 pass I had a 2.1 60' The IRS is tough to launch because you either fall on your nose or blow the tires off. Practice Practice is all I can say. I put 4.30's in my car and have to relearn how to launch. I went 12.8 at 107.5 or something like that. I was hoping to go to the track today, but when I looked out the window this morning, there's 1" of snow on the ground. Get a set of DR's, It will help you with wheel hop and let you hook up a lot better coming off the line. If you change rear end gears you will need better Half shafts. I see them snap all the time at the track. With the stock gears you should be fine, I never had a problem. Go get em! Let's see that low 13 time.

You need to slip the clutch. Try launching at 3k to start. That's hwo I got a 2.18 60 ft. I talked with chris ihara (he has the IRS in his GT), and he usually launches ~3500rpm.
