If I get the cams it will be a few months before I can get gears. Will it still run strong.

On my Big Bore they pull HP to 7600 + RPM and have more torque (15% more at the bottom too (below 3500)). This is with a highly Ported Cobra Intake.

I have yet to put the FR500 Intake on; maybe next week. I expect it to pull harder then.

Everyone get the FR500 4 cams thery are awesome. It really gets scary at 7600 when they are still making HP; but you got to cut it off, man it sounds vicious.

I did this will solid lifters 2 weeks ago, to 8050 RPM and that was a cool sound. 8000+ RPM is much different than 6800 RPM soundwise. A whole new set of harmonics.

I am going back to hydraulic lifters (followers) so I don;t have any adjustments to make. 7600 RPM is OK with me.

The difference is about 30 HP between solid and hydraulic; but lots of extra work for solid followers.

Got to admit that I never thought I wopuld have a >8100 RPM Cobra ! Doable with FR500 components.
