Hi all. Having problems with FR brake ducts and wider tires. I have 275/35-19 tires up front and they are squishing my just installed brake ducts. any suggestions, maybe smaller tubes? The tires are 0.4 inches less diameter ten stock but 2cm wider.

Cheers

Maybe try increasing your damping rates up front so the nose doesn't dive as much which causes the rubbing. Also, stiffer front springs will do the trick. The ducts should be zip tied snug so they don't jiggle or dangle....maybe some pics will help us give tips.

On the driver side, it helps to pull out the plastic panel near the sway bar. Others have modified the panel to hold the hose back.

On the passenger side, the hose just needs to be tucked in as close to the sway bar as possible and held with a zip tie there.

Do you have pics of the install?

Thanks guys, Ill get under the car tonight and post some pics. I went by the shop that put them in from me with the camber plates etc. They cut 8 inches of the end, hope they did not screw up!

8" cut might be too much. I didn't cut any of mine on two sets, but I do know some guys cut a little bit and are okay. You need some of the slack to make the full lock to lock travel.

It is possible to flatten the duct a bit just by grabbing it and squeezing it some. The internal wire can bend and will hold the shape somewhat.

Some pics of the brake duct install that did not go very well! All the dirt was from the off track spin a few months ago. Will fix the body damage after the track season ends. (and in case I do it again!! hope not...). If some one could post some pics of a good install so I can show my shop?

Thanks! Off to the shop again with your pics in hand. Sent it to them by mail and they asked to have the car back asap to make things right. Nice to hear in any case.

I just puked a little! Why did they cut any off?

I left the length as it came, to get my 285-35-19 on 9.5" +35 fronts to not hit the ducts on full lock. I crushed the drivers a little, and found the best place to zip tie was around the sway bar mount ( big zips or put 2 together).

Yeah you've gotta remove some of those air deflectors and make sure the hoses are secured to the front/bottom of the tie rod or swaybar.
